Interfaces & visual maps

Read the view without handing it the decision.

Your reading route

Good storage interfaces make a path, a size measure, and a boundary understandable. They do not need to turn a visualization into an automatic cleanup command. This collection examines visual disk browsers and connects them with practical GUI evaluation. A treemap can show the shape of a directory hierarchy; a detail view can help you understand the particular item you are considering.

Use the visual guide to practice moving from a large rectangle to its actual path and purpose. Then use the GUI topic page to review keyboard navigation, selection state, readable labels, and the separation between inspection and changes. Evaluate both with a small known collection. The useful result is an interface you can explain to another person, not simply the most colorful screen.

The guide.
